| Extra Information | Tchaikovsky considered writing an opera on the subject of Romeo and Juliet between 1878 and 1881. Sketches for a duet scene, partly based on themes from the overture-fantasia, were found after the composer's death, and subsequently completed by Sergey Taneyev. |
