Commentary on the movements

  1. A motet-style movement rare for Bach's cantatas. This, combined with the colla parte instrumentation lend the movement a "severe, archaic character"1.
  2. A plain chorale setting.

  5. Full of vigorous figuration, a "fun" aria.

  7. Alto and oboe d'amore, in the same register, lend this a slower dance feel.
