Hello,

Ok we have a big mess on our hands here you just created the parts you uploaded for El Albaicín (No.7) has created several duplicates which have completely overwritten your previous file uploads on the file blocks above the one you uploaded. I thought maybe I could revert to the earlier version if a duplicate of the same files were uploaded under the file numbers, unfortunately, your files you uploaded is the only version the system see under the files above No.7 on Cahier 1 and 2. The following files from Cahier 1 and 2 got completely replaced and no way to revert without new sets of files need to be uploaded from you:

Clarinet 1, 2, Bass Clarinet (B♭)
Bassoon 1, 2
Horn 1, 2, 3, 4 (F)
Trumpet 1, 2 (B♭)
Trombone 1, 2, Bass Trombone, Tuba
Timpani
Harp

In this case, you have to always remember that the system sees duplicates if the files your uploading have the same file names that are on the page already. You can check this in Edit before you upload a file. The best advice going forward is you need to properly label the files before you upload since your uploading movements of the workpage is the label the files with the movement name in each file to help keep the files uniquely named.

All I can do at this point is approve the files that did not affect previous uploads and I also have to delete the files above it that got completely ovewritten with no way to revert to the previous file version.

This is why its more riskier to do gradual uploads over time for a workpage (or small uploads at a time, because you can run into problems with duplicates in this case. Its best if you want to do the entire work is to wait until you finish typesetting or creating scans for the whole work itself in question to avoid file duplicates.

So it looks like the files that overwritten the files for Cahier 2 and No.7 were from Cahier 1's movements. You have to upload a new set of files (not under the file number, otherwise you replace Cahier's 1's files with new file names. This is why this is a big mess and hopefully this is a feature on the new site coming we'll hopefully have in place to stop anyone trying to upload to a work page if the system detects a file duplicate, because right now we do not have any such security system in place to stop this, so you have to be careful.

What specifically do I need to do to fix anything (any files that are now missing or wrong) ?

You have to upload a new set of files, no way I can revert anything. and then you have to go into edit and remove the ones on the previous file blocks with the corrected files.

What specifically do I need to do to fix anything (any files that are now missing or wrong) ? Should we delete everything and start over?

I blocked the files on new block which blocked the files above it, since its an exact duplicate. Those are the ones you have to replace.

You should not repeat file names on the same page. You need to use different file names for the files you upload to the same page (even in different sections).

When you say "go into edit" I have no idea how to do that. I see nothing that indicates "edit"

OK, just re-do your upload, but make sure that all your files have unique names. (So even if you upload them in separate blocks, they should have different names on your computer).

We will have to go into edit once we get your new files however. We won't delete anything since the ones that are blocked now are files of Cahier 1 only, even on your newest upload set. So we will have to surgically replace the files in Edit, on Cahier 2 and No.7 already uploaded of ones that are NOT Cahier 1.

Charles I have decided I think we need to start over with all of your uploads on the page once again and I am going to delete everything except for No.7 on the page you reuploaded. Its too much work with files being from one stack against another and against another on the page (because when I Copyright tag one fileblock some files on the other block get tagged as well) because of the file names not being unique between each other. What I need you to do for Cahier 1 and 2 is relabel your new uploads with unique filenames like you did with No.7 (BTW you do not need to do the same for file descriptions when filling out the fields for the descriptions because the header for the section on the page already shows this properly). Mainly also is that much of Cahier 2 files are lost now and have to be reuploaded with a unique filename. You recording files are fine and can keep these (no duplication error here), but the way your labeling them would be hard to know without listening to them.

So basically, after this incident, every fileset you submit to the site, its best to include a shortname of whatever movement or work on the filename itself of the score file and parts file (including recordings as well) to help for identification in the future going forward when submitting files to IMSLP (do not make your files generic anymore across you folders I assume you have on your file explorer of your computer). For example on the Neue Bach Ausgabe uploads that I upload, every single file is unique, because I start with "bachNBAIV,4"rest of name of piece" because the series number and volume number and the file number is unique and that helps avoid duplicates for any workpage you upload too.

Sorry for having you redo all of this but we need to get this cleaned up and the best way is for you do this is start over now, I thought maybe this would have been a simple fix but its not.
