Replacing files with new versions ⟨User:Herzogvonbrunswick [#15058]

You should probably know this. I will delete the older one (since you don't know this method). Please for next time, use this method to add in an improved file. Otherwise I will delete them.

Replacing files is easy once you know the trick...

  1. Click on the file number
  2. Follow the link to "upload a new version of this file"
  3. Upload the new file - you can name the new one any way you like (keep it the same or change to something new - it makes no difference)
  4. When you see the little [B] next to the file description, you will know your replacement was successful

It might appear to be the old version if you view without being logged in for a couple of days due to the site's cache being updated, but the new one is what will actually download.
That's all there is to it.

Also make sure to be spelling out your full exact name, the same as it is on your composer page, in the "Editor" field. Otherwise, it comes up as a link in red.

Hi, thanks very much for that. I couldn't remember how to do it. Cheers, Will.

And I guess you forgot already about the above, with a new improved upload, 5 years later?

No, your assertion is incorrect. The file from 2015 is a record of what I thought and knew then and the new file is a product of what I have learnt over the intervening time. I deliberately uploaded the updated edition instead of replacing the old one to show the difference between the two. I see that you have deleted the file. Do I need to upload it again or can you please reinstate it?
