Adolf Steiner (1897–1974) ⟨User:YuriyLcello [#16181]

Were in the process of removing the contributions that Steiner did since he is under copyright worldwide (died less than 50 years ago) so we can make the file eligible for download. Please make sure next time BEFORE uploading, to remove digitally or whiteout all of the markings of the editor (Reviser) if they are under copyright, this will make it eligible for upload.

I don't understand. Rostropovich died in 2007 and his name is under the piano part for Sinfonia Concertante. Maybe I am missing something.

Your thinking of the Symphony Concertante which Rostropovich re-premiered, you made the Cello Concerto, Op.58 (Prokofiev, Sergey) workpage with the cello and piano reduction is where I am talking about, thats the first version...

I will do anything you think is best. I am trying to understand why having Rostropovich's name on Sinfonia is OK but Steiner's on the Concerto is not OK. I want to understand the copyright better.

You probably haven't read over this section from the Public Domain page (including the "Determining Copyright Term" above), which is where I am getting at regarding editorial contribution with Steiner (died less than 50 years ago). Rosterpovich will only count if he has added in any of his own contribution to the ink on the sheet music, which he didn't, only Steiner did.

OK. I'll submit the earlier publication without Steiner's revision. Or are you saying that you are doing that already?

Well Carolus is handling redacting the contribution on this file. If you do however have a earlier publication file that is like a first edition, original to Prokofiev's contributions only, that would be better.

I guess it's only the piano reduction where Steiner had no contribution.
