Psalms with Marcello ⟨User:Dhzanette [#16673]

I think he's numbered them according to the Vulgate, which differs from the standard now in use everywhere. There's a chart on Choral-Wiki which we link to. Psalm 40 in Vulgate = 41 in Hebrew. May of the numbers in Vulgate are 1 less, up to 115 or so, where some odd splits take place.

The difference in the numbering of psalms begins after Psalm 9, which is divided into two parts. The second part is now usually numbered as 10. From then on, the Vulgata numbers are 1 less, until Psalm 146 (beyond Giustiniani-Marcello's collection). I think it's a little confusing quoting the two numbers in each work's page -without a warning- but this is to be decided by the IMSLP's administrators. Also the use of Roman numerals is confusing, as there is no unique notation for each number (for instance, in the Venetian edition of Estro Poetico-Armonico, Psalm 40 (41) is denoted as XXXX, instead of XL).

By the way, today I have uploaded Salmo Quarantesimoprimo, which completes the collection of my transcriptions of Estro Poetico-Armonico. In the following days, I will be creating the pages that are still missing for the individual psalms. Also, I will begin a revision of my oldest transcriptions, to uniformize some transcription criteria.
