Uploader? ⟨User:Coulonnus [#16993]

Are you using the Classic Skin for uploading? If so you really should switch to the Modern Skin, the uploader is much better and easier to use overall.

Also you need to be careful with the years your entering into the publisher field, the most recent files I noticed they are from the 19th century, not the 20th. You wrote "1953" instead of "1853" (they say this at BNF).

What is a "skin"? I simply click Add file, Source=upload file. There is no option when I do that.

Do you see "Switch to Modern Skin" at the bottom of the page? This takes you to the new look we implemented a few months back now. The uploader is different looking from the one your used to.

A Skin is just a overlay Universal Interface but the core functions of the system are the same. The reason I would like you to use the new uploader is its much easier to use and less fixing for us admins if more people migrate to the new skin with the uploader.

You can then in your account "My Preferences" change the default skin to the Vector (Modern) Skin.

Thanks. I will try for my next upload. Does this skin automatically do the many corrections admins often do for me in the Publisher: field?

Partially, but you can do them yourself if you go into "Edit" and see whats been changed on your upload, so you can apply them to your next upload.

Coulonnus you do not have to put in "n.d." in the year field for uploading, this is automatically done by the system.

Thanks. I already noticed that n.d was enough!  :-) I'll hit more complicated cases like n.d.[c.a.{year}]

that is the only thing you have to enter in n.d. for if a approximate year is known, otherwise leave it blank if you do not know it.
