From where did you get all the beethoven Sonatas urtxt (henle) in HD Quality (High Quality) ??

Hello!

A user posted a great deal of good scans here, and Abteilung VII has piano sonatas 1-24. All I did was download the full volumes and break them up into smaller pieces. The remaining piano sonatas I scanned on my own.

Does that give you the info you wanted? Hope it helps.

I'm not sure how well it would work, but here is one thing you could try. You can try exporting every page of the PDF to TIFF images, if your PDF software allows you to do that. Then, using the free software ScanTailor, you could process the images and re-scale them to 600 dpi.

Instructions on processing images in ScanTailor can be found at steps 4-8 of this guide.

You could then use other software to re-combine the images into a PDF. I happen to have the paid version of Adobe Acrobat, and I find it really easy to combine files in that software. But if you would like to use free software, there are instructions for combining images into a PDF in something called ImageMagick in the guide I linked just above.

Thanks a lot.. :) But how did u scan the 25-32 sonatas?? Do you have the book??

That's right, I bought it new and used a large-format scanner in a university library near me.

If you're doing this for more than a few scores, buying new sheet music gets expensive quickly! I think I'm going to try to find old used books in the future, but I don't regret buying new sheet music for repertoire as important as Beethoven's piano sonatas.

I known I'm a bit late to say so, but it's really marvelous scans. Thank you very much for this good high quality work.

I'm so happy you like the scans, piupianissimo! Since Rohan's question, I've scanned sonatas 1-23 as well, in Wallner's edition. It's been very rewarding to see the view counts go so high on those, as well as on the English suites and (what was a bit of a surprise to me) the Breitkopf edition of Krebs's organ works!
