Music For Philip Glass, Op.19 (Staheli, Gwendolyn) ⟨User:Gwendolynstaheli [#23944]

So I am assuming here that you are not using themes or melodies of any kind from this composer right? Because if you are then your piece your using could be under copyright without permission from that composer. Or is this just a dedication and the piece is purely original by you?

While all of the movements are vaguely inspired by Glass's style and a few works in particular (Music In Fifths, Mad Rush), there is absolutely no musical material used from him nor are any of the pieces a set of variations. The title is essentially a dedication, although I feel that word is too strong. "Demonstration" may be more accurate, although the work has a fair amount of parody involved as well. I should point out that the fourth movement does include a theme from a different composer (not Glass), and as such will not be posted here or anywhere due to these issues you mention.
