vocal works and language ⟨User:Berwald [#24074]

Dear Berwald: Please don't forget to put the language in the language field when you upload a vocal work -- we don't always have time to download everything and find out. Also, the same goes for exact instrumentation or voicing. For example, you have "voices" for Le Sueur's Te Deum, but the opening page clearly indicates voices in the plural so that movement at least would be choral. We don't have time to download and go through every page of every movement to see if there are soloists as well (and the BnF site is unhelpful in this regard). I have tagged this as choral, but that may not be accurate. Please let me know if this has soloists in some of the movements.

Likewise for his Messe Solennelle, it is unclear whether it is both vocal soloists and choral.

Thanks, B

Hi, I just added details on the workpage of the Messe Solennelle, for the orchestra, the voices, and the names of the sections. This is not completely clear for the soloists, but at least in the Gloria, first "duo pastoral" with 1 soprano 2 and 1 tenor, and for "autre duo", 1 soprano 1 and 1 tenor 1. Maybe also in the Credo with at the beginning the indication "Canto" (for 1 bass only?). It is a little more precise for the O Salutaris, with the indication "Canto solo" (Tenor, because of the key). For the Te Deum, details to follow.

Precisions added also for Te Deum, in which it is clearer. Yes there are vocal soloists in addition to choirs (2 choruses in reality since there are mentions "petit choeur" and "grand choeur"). The instrumentation has been specified as well.
