Symphonic Fragment No.1 (Clements, Patrick) ⟨User:PatrickC⟩ [#26547]

This seems like an odd page to have on here. How close is your adaptation to the first movement of the Mahler Symphony? Like is it 1 to 1 bar wise of the movement? If so, this should be moved to Mahler's page as this would be more of an arrangement than an independent work.

It is a selection of (mainly) the horn passages put together to make a coherent piece (I hope). It follows the original in that the excerpts are in order of appearance, so it is in effect a very abridged version of the original. I did give some consideration as to where to put it. I thought I had found instructions in your help for submitting works such as potpourris, though oddly I can't find them now. I am happy for it to be moved if you think that is right. The same applies to the other two "Symphonic Fragments" based on Brahms symphonies. Maybe "for 5 horns" should be added to the title. Apologies if I have messed this up.

I've found it: Linking Arrangements which no longer resemble the structure of the original work, and which may be styled "Fantasia on", "Potpourri on", "Selections from", "Variations on", etc. should normally appear only on the work page of the composer who made this arrangement/transcription. We should avoid having the same file duplicated on more than one page wherever possible.

However No.1a is basically an arrangement of No.1 and it should be on that page instead since its set for a different instrumentation. Arrangement workpages of another workpage is not allowed. Ands also I would not be using the Navbox you put in the Comments section, that is only for the Mahler Symphony pages and is finalized for its use on the site (meaning its only placed on certain workpages). Instead use the "|Related Works=" field for filling this in in the General Info.
