Liszt and ravel urtext volumes (nla, henle, peters, etc.) ⟨User:Fugalicious [#31088]

Hi, I was wondering if you can scan most of of the Liszt and Ravel PD urtext volumes, especially nla volumes 16, 21, and 23, and some ravel piano works (if there are any). Not sure what happened with piupianissimo, as he scanned most of the liszt nla volumes

Hi Aldo, thanks for thinking of me when you were looking for someone to do scans! I can think about adding this to my list of things to scan, but unfortunately I don't know when I'm going to regain access to a scanner. I was using a scanner in a university library that's been shut to the public since the pandemic started.

A couple of questions. First, have you tried reaching out to piupianissimo? I've never tried contacting him/her. Second, are there any Ravel works that you were especially interested in?

I will try asking piupianissimo. And on edition peters, there are urtext volumes edited by roger nichols, but I'm struggling to find the date that it was published? The volumes for example are miroirs, and valse nobles et sentimentales.

One more thing, a user published reprints of the edition peters urtext of pavane pour une infante and gaspard de la nuit.

Looks like Miroirs was published in 1995 and is available at the library I'd use: https://librarysearch.library.utoronto.ca/discovery/fulldisplay?docid=alma991106539023006196&context=L&vid=01UTORONTO_INST:UTORONTO

So some of this would be possible! If you don't have any luck with piupianissimo, I will see if I can do this in the summer :)

sorry for extremely late reply, but i did ask piupianissimo about the liszt urtext volumes a couple of months ago, and now he’s back to uploading, so we don’t need to worry about that now. btw, do you have any plans of uploading henle urtext volumes (different composers if possible?)

Hi! It's great that piupianissimo is back at it.

Sorry, right now I'm not planning to scan other Henle volumes. I spent a lot of money buying editions myself, but my financial situation has since changed.

When I next get access to a scanner, one of my highest priorities will be works that are PD only in Canada, where I live—mostly organ music, but I'll also see if I have any Stravinsky that hasn't yet been uploaded.

A gap I've noticed on IMSLP that I'd like to fill is the absence of urtext editions of piano variations by Beethoven, so I'd like to find a library edition of those and scan it, if that works out!

Hey there, wanted to add that someone put the Peters urtext of Miroirs up a few months ago! You can check it out. I'm not familiar with the user who did it, but it seems to be an excellent scan.

Hi guys,

I just wanted to let you know that I've uploaded the complete Gaspard de la nuit Urtext by Edition Peters.

I also have the scans of Henle Urtext, including some Schumann works, as well as the complete Schubert and Brahms Piano sonatas. However, it will take some time and effort to remove all of the copyright-secured materials like fingerings, comments, and translations by myself.

So, I'm planning to do as much as I can, but if any of you are willing to help, please let me know. The scanning process is almost done, and all that remains is editing the PDFs.

Please feel free to let me know if you would like to contribute in any way. Thank you!

Hi Sunmin, it's wonderful to hear you've scanned all this!

I'm not going to have capacity for this for a long time; however, if I find some time for this next year, I will check in to see how your redaction project is going, and may be able to offer my help then. I will be sure to reach out if I do have extra capacity.

Thanks again, and good luck!
