Henry T. Leslie? ⟨User:Fynnjamin [#3180]

Hi Fynnjamin - I could use some of your expertise regarding British choral composers.

From Novello's Part-Song Book, I have a copy of The Four Jolly Smiths, a part song by "R.T Leslie" with words by "J. Louis Rockliffe". Many sources attribute this to a Henry T. Leslie. Do you know who that is?

I assume that it's not the famous Henry David Leslie (1822-1896), a choral conductor.

I've seen references to

- Leslie, Henry, 1830-1881

- Henry T. Leslie, Mus. Doc.

- Henry Temple Leslie, Mus. Doc., and

- Henry Temple Leslie (c. 1825-76).

To whom should I give credit for The Four Jolly Smiths? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hmm. I'm afraid I can't give a real answer here. But I'll keep Leslie in mind and let you know if I find anything relevant.
