IMSLP #81504812 Monferrinas, Op.49 (Clementi, Muzio) [#33097]

Hi everyone,

I just submitted an improved version of the existing scan (#637289) of Clementi's "12 Monferrinas" that was available here:

https://imslp.org/wiki/12_Monferrinas%2C_Op.49_(Clementi%2C_Muzio)

I have:

• Removed coloured backgrounds and distracting artifacts

• Sharpened notation (where necessary)

• Centred pages, moved far-flung systems closer together, etc.

• Reduced filesize (from 25.15 MB to 6.2 MB)

As it wasn't actually a new scan, I selected "Other", and now see it's been posted on the work's "Other" tab. I'd rather it be posted on the "Scores" tab, below the existing version... Can someone fix that?

I hope I did everything else acceptably. The submission process seems rather complicated (and I'm a technical writer!). Could I at least suggest the addition of an "Improved existing score" option to the submission list? Cheers, Andy

Hello? Anybody?

there is already an option for improving an existing score. Click on the #637289 under the score link and “upload a new version of this file.”

correct. however, here in this case if there's a colour scan available and someone creates a greyscale / monochrome version then it should be added as separate file in order to still have both.
I've moved the file accordingly.

sorry, you're quite right of course!

Thanks, fellows!

As I mentioned, I did more than just converting it to grayscale... I think I was able to make it more legible (although that's just my opinion as a musician, LOL). Removing the extraneous background data also allowed it to be about a 70% smaller download—and saving IMSLP a bit of bandwidth seems worthwhile.

If there are any other scores you'd like me to clean up in a similar way, just let me know. Cheers, A.
