When uploading Manuscripts, you should fill in the Year field if there is no date with "n.d." on the file in question, otherwise the uploader doesn't put anything in.

Sorry, I thought this was automatic!

No I don't believe it is currently.

It is automatic if you use {{Mss}}. Example: Manuscript, n.d. It should be automatic for all templates when a year is not put in.

Actually I was told not to use the vanilla {{Mss}} without providing a date and that has to be written out as "Manuscript, n.d." instead according to the template use which says:

"NOTE: inputting no variables will result in the template placing the work page in the category of "Manuscripts from the 00s" which should be avoided."

Meaning will show on the category section at the bottom of a workpage as that.

This also applies to all the other manuscript templates as well.

This is a bug, then, with the Mss template, which I should fix soon.

Might be a good one to put on the list to change out the long form "Manuscript, n.d." to run a bot to replace it with the template instead, if this can be fixed. I think it also affects {{MssD}}, {{MssAu}}, {{MssUA}}, etc. as well.

The issue with the Mss template has been fixed.
