About automating scans ⟨User:Fugalicious [#35140]

Hello, Fugalicious! I'm not sure how you and other uploaders are automating their scanning process. After I manually cropped and rotated 4000 pages in Photoshop, I finally decided to write a python script that can automate everything. (link on my IMSLP homepage) Currently it's accuracy is very good after a few day's testing. It can also run a despeckle function which is not easily done in Photoshop (the way I previously use) although it's very slow. Curretly the only unsolvable issue is the dpi, which is locked to 72. You can't zoom out 72 dpi PDF when viewing it in Microsoft edge. I will try to solve this. My recent upload Chopin Prelude Paderewski is done with the script. Anyway, you could try it out if you are currently not using any form of automating scripts. Our resolution are very close. (I use 4000x5400 with 0.77 scaling, which is smaller than yours. But you can changes these parameters in the program) You are welcome to give any kind of feedback. Please also ask me if you have any questions about this program.

You might be better off asking Dbmiller about scripts like this as he has knowledge on this matter.

Thanks for this, Zhengjc :) I may have a chance to look at your automation in the next few weeks.

I've been using ScanTailor Advanced for processing my scans and am really happy with it. I got it from here: https://github.com/4lex4/scantailor-advanced/releases

I use ScanTailor Advanced (see updated version here, actually: https://github.com/ScanTailor-Advanced/scantailor-advanced), plus ImageMagick, img2pdf, etc... Writing a post about my scripts and settings soon.
