IMSLP #105980 ⟨Coppélia (Delibes, Léo)⟩ [#3934]

One can only be grateful to anyone who typesets a major work like this. However, I have discovered a very large number of errors, and needed the piano reduction to work out what the notes should be. The extent of the errors seriously limits the usefulness of this score.

I echo Ceolnamara's comment. Huge bravo to Karl Paulsson for this work, which must have taken many, many hours!

Unfortunately, in order to play a small selection from the music, I've had to rescan the selection into Sibelius and retypeset it so the page turns become physically possible. (I have compiled a 'Prelude and Mazurka' as traditionally played, with the cut from bar 39 to bar 470 and will place it on IMSLP after we have played the music and discovered any errors I have introduced.)

As Ceolnamara commented, I also discovered some errors. Would it be possible for the notation file to be placed on IMSLP so that the music can be edited and repaged to make page turns easier? Sibelius would be best, but failing that, something that Sibelius can open, perhaps Music XML? (Definitely not MIDI!!!)

I've now put the Prelude, Mazurka, Waltz and Czardas up on IMSLP. I did find numerous errors but I wish I had not referred to 'numerous' errors in the Waltz and Czardas in the misc. remarks when I put it up. While it's true, it seems unkind to Karl Paulsson after his very valuable work on this project. Let me again shout 'bravo to'!

Mr. Paulsson announced in the Forums that he will not contribute anymore (due to the introduction of the membership system) although his new files are not affected by the download waiting period. HP

You are being admirably neutral re Paulsson; if memory serves, various of his IMSLP communications (even before the membership kerfuffle) gave the impression of a somewhat contentious personality.

Of course, here as admin I try to be neutral.
(in contrast to my real life where I like to be quite clear and tell people directly what I think...)
