I am a portfolio musician, based in Yorkshire, England, doing composing, teaching, publishing, playing and directing, mostly early music as well as my own compositions.
I have interests in composing for traditional classical ensembles such as string quartet, orchestra and classical guitar but I also write modern music for lutes, recorders and viols. I have the good intention of writing some pedagogic studies for these instruments. I have recently won the 2007 Viola da Gamba Society of Great Britain composition contest. This piece has been distributed extensively by the VdGSGB and is now published here.
You may still see the odd scientific paper which may or not be me as there are at least 3 different Martin Graysons who do scientific research.
