Extra Information | According to Grove Music, this collection contains "84 numbered items, 12 of which are obblighi for four to seven voices. The other 72 are canons ‘in various manners’ for three to eight voices on every degree of the scale from the unison to the 10th above and below, some with ‘certain strangenesses’; one of the parts is always the cantus firmus in long notes." In addition, there are "14 harpsichord sonatas, notated in four-stave score (ed. P.E. Carapezza, Kraków, 1989), which are the first to be named 'Sonate di cimbalo." |
