Category talk:Alberstoetter, Carl

Where'd the 1835 and 1921 come from? Wrote some publications that appeared between 1898 or so and 1909 according to HMB and Worldcat, but aside from that does anyone have anything (that seems not to be plucked out of thin air completely)? Eric 11:41, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

No idea - maybe Carolus got them from Sibley? (Like I trust them, but it's better than nothing I suppose...) KGill talk email 19:18, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

The Sibley listings I saw had just Carl Alberstoetter, no dates. Sibley contributor page here... Some 'web hits' have Alberstötter (no surprise, others probably have Karl) but not sure I've seen any with much information... having - finally - gotten in the habit of checking authorities.loc.gov , viaf.org , musicsack on a fairly regular basis first, none of them had date information I think (unless I wasn't being creative enough with alternative spellings.) hrm. Violinmark has 1835-1921, and maybe we got it from them instead of other-way-about (ah, for more and better sourcing please...), but that still only kicks the can down the road a little, as I think the expression goes. Eric 20:28, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
