IMSLP talk:Community Projects/Merton Project

Some of the scores listed in the printed catalogue of Merton Music (e.g. the string quartets of Kozeluch, Op.32 and 33) are not yet on Imslp. Is there a reason why they are excluded, or might they simply have been forgotten? Cgo

Hrm. As the Kozeluch works were first published in the 1790s-1800s, those particular ones shouldn't pose a problem (so long as the Merton parts aren't based on the Artia publications, which are 1960s editions and may for all I know -- and I don't - ... may not be "Urtexts"... don't know. Don't know if there have been any between 1800 or so and 1960-odd :) ) In some cases - this is a guess, I'm not involved in this project - it may be omission or detail, in others there might be copyright concerns (Merton's permission to republish may be specific and not extend to us.) See Carolus's answer to this question here. All but two of the 1115 files we were given were uploaded; those two were not because we weren't sure that Merton had permission to print them. Cheers, KGill talk email 14:59, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
