I was under the impression this was an arrangement of a movement from another work, but I may be thinking of something else... ah yes- " a Quintet, Op. 3, also arranged for string orchestra as a serenade". I recall I wrote that into the en-Wikipedia article, but not without reason or evidence of some sort at the time. Will check.
