Navigation etc.

New composition (year 2006). Melodic, tonal music. Here style draws from classical and romantic music, with a gaze to film music. The new classical music must return to arouse emotion in the listener. Acoustic experimentation and electronic music have been successful in the popular field (prog, electronic pop etc.), failing on the contrary on the large theatrical public. Nowadays "everything is old" in music. After Cage, everything has been experimented, silence too. We therefore need to learn from everything, from any high quality piece, no matter if ancient or modern, and use every language to evoke emotion, without forcing in a precise direction, toward atonality or using experimentation finalized to itself. Also, how much "black" (complicate, full of notes) a score is does not mean it contains more quality or emotion. The good composer is able to give emotion to his public also by only using white notes. I think this has not been fully understood yet in composition competitions, for instance. No problem. I want to compose for you all, for musicians and music lovers, not for competitions. Thank you and enjoy my trombone concerto!
