Publication History

This set of articles presumably was written originally in Russian and then translated for the later French edition.

The Russian text appeared first as separate articles collectively titled Сеансы А.Г. Рубинштейна. Курс Истории литературы фортепианной музыки in the periodical Неделя during Jan.-May 1889, and later that year together as the monograph История литературы фортепианной музыки. Курс А.Г. Рубинштейна .

The French edition was printed in installments in the periodical L'Art (revue bimensuelle illustrée) during 1889–90.
