One of RISM's entries cites the 1605 Motetti a quatro voce, but Grove Music does not have a collection of motets from that date. They do have a 1597 Motetti, primo libro in Croce's work list, which had 4-voice motets in it. Source is unidentified until these earlier collections can be viewed and compared.
