Miscellaneous information
Blazy's most notable distinction is that of being Louis Vierne's teacher. The Elévation movement from Vierne's final composition, Messe Basse pour les défunts (Low Mass for the Departed) is dedicated to his memory. Blazy died in a tragic accident after being hit outside his house by a bus.
