According to J. Joubert, Louis Jacquemin was born in 1881 in Dieuze (Lorraine) and began his musical studies with his father, then he studied in the Schola Cantorum (Paris). in 1911, he is organist and maître de chapelle in the seminary of Soissons (Aisne). In 1919, he is appointed director for sacred music for the diocese of Soissons.
