VIAF gives 1942 for death date, and the above link mentions a composer and conductor of this name 1856-1942 and a -diplomat-, not a musician, who lived 1856-1916, but at least one of the scores gives op.posth. (can we determine more certainly when it was published?) Very confusing really.
