- Detailed biography: Born in London in 1953 and first started composing while at school. Obtained a degree in Economics and Geography from University College London and then a PhD from the Open University in Milton Keynes. Became a member of the OU academic staff and was promoted to Professor of Transport Strategy in 2005. Now holds an emeritus professorship at the Open University. Sings with the OU Choir, the renaissance choir Quorum and plays viola in the Open University Orchestra. He has written pieces for the OU Orchestra, OU Choir, Milton Keynes Sinfonia and the Milton Keynes Chorale.
