Miscellaneous information
- A "Louis Wallis" famous in the late 19th century/early 20th wrote and spoke on several topics, publishing e.g. "Sociological study of the Bible" (University of Chicago Press, 1912), but his publishing dates seem to start soon after those of the composing Louis Wallis. VIAF has this later Louis Wallis as born in 1876 (and one notes fl.1954? based on Worldcat.) Conceivably a relative though, even a Jr.? Worth looking into?
Biographical information can be gleaned conjecturally from dedications - his Students' Farewell Grand Galop is dedicated to the students of Lawrenceville High School, New Jersey, published 1875 (by Lee & Walker) ; he might have taught there or near there around then.
