Most sources before Grove 2001 seem to be in agreement on approximately when he was born (about 1671) and when he died (before 1733 or thereabouts). Indeed, a 1991 source cited by LC gives specific information about the time he was declared dead (late 1732). Grove 2001 therefore seems to be a notable step backwards in accuracy, though there may be a very good reason for this; in any case, I have little choice but to use Grove's approximations and hope something more recent/accurate turns up.
