Cello Sonata, Op.46 (Farrenc, Louise)
Paris: the composer, n.d.(1861). Plate A. F. 121.
Paris: Alphonse Leduc, n.d. Plate A.L. 5850.
Every page of the cello part but the first has the original Farrenc?? plate, A.F. 121 (if this is a Farrenc plate - given that it was published in 1861, this seems an odd plate number. Hrrrrrm.) For identification of publisher of first edition, see.
|Work Title||Cello Sonata|
|Alternative Title||1re Sonate pour Piano et Violoncelle|
|Year/Date of Composition||1858 ca.|
|Dedication||Ch. Lebouc (Charles Lebouc, 1822–1893, possibly)|
Though labeled first sonata (at least in the Leduc printing from the mid.-late 1870s), Farrenc is not known(?) to have written a second cello sonata. Legras' book "Louise Farrenc, compositrice du XIXe siècle: Musique au féminin" lists only one (p.121). She gives a publication date of 1861 (and composition date 1858 ca.) for the work (on p.136 of her book and p.121, respectively).
