Misc. Comments

The lyrics are almost, but not fully, the same as in a duetto by Joseph Haydn, Saper vorrei se m'ami (Hob.XXVa/2) with its text most often ascribed to Badini. In a manuscript copy of this song preserved at Conservatorio di musica S. Cecilia, Roma Metasasio is stated as poet ("Scritto da Metastasio e messo in musica da Haydn mentre i due illustri Autori convivevano nella Stessa Casa"). The composer Antonio Salieri wrote duetto, Saper vorrei se m’ami to another version of the text.
