Emile Deplaix has been described as an art critic as well as a music publisher, the latter activity on a very small scale as is shown by the absence of a plate number for this particular edition. As for Louis Flocon, WorldCat lists a few other songs again with his own lyrics, also published by small publishers (Killian, Cairanne), all between 1890 and 1900. There is no printed cover or title page which may be a normal presentation for similar cheap productions, which offer a bare piano part, accompanied with a full page insert for solo voice and complete text.
