May I suggest too that when someone encounters a score with "new revised edition" in some language (neue revidirte/correcte Ausgabe, e.g.) on the title page they are encouraged to enter this at some point in the file description rather than leave the impression that the file is the first edition of the work...) Hofmeisters Monatsberichte often mentions that an edition is a Neue Ausg. and this can be helpful in deciding whether a file was printed in what year, for what that is worth... likewise any editors etc. whose names are mentioned, even more importantly!
