James Spiers Kerr (1841-93) published a series of four Scottish tune books known as Kerr's "Merry Melodies" from about 1875. These were followed by many songs (some arranged by Kerr himself), piano pieces (Beaupuis) and violin pieces (Volti).
The firm Kerr Music Corporation Limited was founded in 1952. It publishes reprints of popular James S. Kerr titles, such as the Merry Melodies series, as well as vintage publications from Mozart Allan and Bayley and Ferguson.
