The Mass of the Nativity is a large scale work. The number of instruments deployed will depend on resources, size of orchestra and choir, available.
The work could be performed at Mass, with the exception of the Credo, or in concert setting (with the exclusion of the psalm, alleluia, both acclamations and the Great Amen).
The Lord's Prayer was an existing work but one which balanced well with the size of the sections in the Mass. It is for Quartet and Baritone.
I dedicate the work to Ivan Slezak who encouraged it, my thanks go to him.
Stephen McManus, November 2004.
I do encourage choir directors to employ their own interpretation in performing the music, I have suggested dynamics and tempi etc.
