Misc. Comments

See "Discuss this piece" for a discussion in progress.
* By the well-known Bach scholar Peter Williams, among others, in his book "The Organ Music of J. S. Bach", Cambridge University Press, 2004, pp. 474-476.
* In his lengthy essay on Bach's organ music, French musicologist Gilles Cantagrel shows no doubt about Bach's authorship of this magnificent Magnificat. See Guide de la Musique d'orgue, Paris, Fayard, 2012, p.134.
* It is interesting to note that famous organists like Wolfgang Rübsam, Helmut Walcha and Marie-Claire Alain have included the Fuga sopra il Magnificat in their recordings of J. S. Bach's complete organs works. (Why is this interesting? The majority of complete work recordings include it (I have the Werner Jacobs set myself)).--BachFan 00:38, 7 February 2015 (EST)
