Possibly published around the same time as the concerto opus 40, which occurred no later than around 1805 (it's mentioned in a list of available works, along with opus 48 - a piano, oboe, strings quintet- and a work that may be opus 41 but is not given an opus number (right under the Danzi and Dussek quintets opus 41. See Verzeichniss von Musikalien welche in der Falterschen Musikhandlung zu München - Verzeichniss von Musikalien der Vorzüglichsten Ältern Und Neuern Werke, welche in der Musik und Instrumenten-Handlung bey Falter und Sohn in München in der Residenz-Schwabinger-Gasse Nro. 33 zu haben sind (1819), page 19). Opus 41 composed sometime around the time opus 40 was, probably? (last year of the composer's life. Posthumously published in both cases.) Note: actually published 1808 it seems, but still, slightly posthumously...
