First published in 1884, but the Sibley copy is part of a later series. (This is mentioned in the preface by Mantze. Further detail is provided by HMB:- publication " Quartettino (Gm.) f. 2 Streich-, 1 Diskant- u. 1 A.-Z" apparently ? without opus number; republished in 1886, given (if HMB is not omitting opus 42 itself) the opus number on publication by the same company around 1887 ( .) In each case these seem to be zither-quartets, that is, two string-zithers, one discant-zither and one alto-zither. So this seems to be an arrangement...
