composed 1906 according to Dibble (2010), p. 193. Won first prize in Bologna quartet competition that year (yes, it seems the same exact (1906) competition to which Frank Bridge's E minor quartet no.1 was submitted and receives its nickname.)

A 3rd quartet of 1923 ("Op.70 in B-flat major") may have been composed but lost; its existence was claimed by Aiello (1956), Al Musicista Michele Esposito (as noted in Dibble, 2010, p.193) but it seems never to have been performed or published.
