According to Wikipedia-da, Heise wrote 6 string quartets. The (autograph/copy) manuscripts of 5 of them (we have no.2 in G from ca.(?)1852 here already...) have now been digitized by the Danish Royal Library. (The full score of no.4 is certainly an autograph; the first page of the finale is crossed out after two systems (Presto) before the composer starts over with something new- a copyist would have passed over that page entirely.)
Heise's 6 string quartets will be recorded on the Danish Dacapo label in several installments, the first CD expected out in 2015.
There seems to be no date on the ms; however Robin Stowell (in the Cambridge Companion to the String Quartet) writes
"Heise, on the other hand, composed six quartets, the most distinctive of which, in C minor (1857)"...
