- Actually, before 1850 or so, it was not uncommon at all for separate parts to be published for works for single instrument plus piano. The piano score (with instrumental cue) we're so used to now, didn't become common until the middle of the 19th century. Carolus 05:56, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
