Talk:Bachiana Dodecafonica (St. Clair, Richard)

Bachiana Dodecafonica refers to two distinct things: (1) Each prelude and fugue is based on a 12-tone row (2) derived from a prelude or fugue from Book I of J.S. Bach's Well Tempered Clavier. The original version of this work has 5 preludes with accompanying fugues. The Expanded Version adds a 6th prelude and fugue. It is possible the title of this work could be interpreted to mean a kind of "Back to Bach" neoclassicism, but that is not the case.
