Toccata (Karjinsky, Nicholas)
|
It is unlikely that this work is public domain in the EU, or in any country where the copyright term is life-plus-70 years. However, it is in the public domain in Canada (where IMSLP is hosted) and other countries where the term is life-plus-50 years (like China, Japan, Korea and many others worldwide). As this work was first published before 1923 or failed to meet notice or renewal requirements to secure statutory copyright, it is almost certainly public domain in the USA as well. |

Misc. Comments
The composer was a friend of Paul Bazelaire whose students were required to study some of Karjinsky's cello compositions. Paul Coutan, one of these students, owned this score and his annotations are most certainly Paul Bazelaire's.
Note at bottom of page suggests adding composer's Sarabande to Toccata in performance (suggesting perhaps that together they add up to one whole work??) - Schissel
Yet neither of these pieces is listed among Bazelaire's personal collection of scores, among which several others by Karjinsky, to be found at http://www.paul-bazelaire.com/ (see Les autres partitions de P.B.) - Jurabe
