Etceterovsky

Hi Afroduck. Is this your own work, or do you have permission from its actual author (whom I assume is not Nikolai Etceterovsky ;-) ) to upload here? Thanks, KGill talk email 23:07, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

The name Nikolai Etceterovsky sounds rather Latinate-Russianate-superfluous but that aside (after all, the 99.9999%-total absence of any mention of someone on the internet is not of itself evidence of anything else but itself) - of course have to both second KGill on this one and add- if you do have permission, would you please of course provide IMSLP with evidence that you do? Liability reasons, 'course... Eric 10:33, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello KGill, I do apologise; that name, as you rightly suggest, is a pseudonym. However, my intent was not to disrupt IMSLP in any way, merely to make my composition freely available to enjoy. I simply used the pseudonym in the way that Philip Heseltine used the name Peter Warlock. I did not realise that pseudonyms were not allowed, I shall be more mindful in future. Thanks anyway.

Hi Afroduck. You certainly haven't disrupted IMSLP in any way. There is no problem with the use of a pseudonym, and I apologize if that was the impression I gave (as I can assure you that it was not my intent to communicate that). The only issue was that it was not entirely clear that Afroduck = Nikolai Etceterovsky; since you have now confirmed this, I'll go ahead and restore the work (it was deleted after 24 hours in accordance with policy). Please feel free to upload your works under this name in the future. Cheers, KGill talk email 20:39, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
