Hi Victorio, and thanks for the uploads! In the future, would you mind specifying a Creative Commons license for your typesets, instead of using 'Public Domain'? It is in fact impossible in many countries to release a work by a living composer into the public domain. (The licenses for all of your typesets have already been changed to Creative Commons Attribution 3.0; feel free to change them to another Creative Commons license if you wish.) Thanks, KGill talk email 21:41, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
Dear Victorio, Please look through a composer's category page carefully before creating new work-pages. We already have a page for Mendelssohn's Op.59. Your edition of No.3 has been moved there and the superfluous page you created redirected accordingly. Thanks, Carolus 21:52, 7 October 2010 (UTC) (IMSLP Copyright Admin)
Dear Victorio, This is not a "Normal Scan" but a typeset of recent origin done with a program like Sibelius or Finale. Is this your own edition/typeset? If not, do have written permission from the editor/typsetter or other suitable proof that the score was released for free distribution under a Creative Commons license? You seem to have a problem understanding the difference between scans and typesets, including for your own original works, so allow me to explain that we allow new works and new editions only under the Creative Commons licenses as it is not possible under some copyright laws for an author to place their own work in the public domain. The simplest version of the Creative Commons License, Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 is almost the same as public domain as it allows any use of the score - including commercial use - as long as the authors are given proper credit (attribution). That is why we strongly recommend that you carefully read and review the provisions of the different Creative Commons licenses before uploading scores here. We really need a response from you, as we delete unattributed typesets as possible copyright violations in 24 hours. The same problem applies to the Vulpius typeset you just uploaded. Unless we receive confirmation that this is your own work, the file will be deleted. Carolus 18:09, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
I can only second what's written above. We already have a page for Mozart's string quintet no. 1. Also, I have not moved your scan of the quintet there (and may delete it) since you have not provided any information on its source (publisher, etc.) - any of the needed information, in fact. Dear Victorio, You will not see the revised version of a file you uploaded until the cache has been purged - usually about 3 days. The new, revised version is actually there and is what downloads. Therefore, when you upload a revised version, you should either clear the page-cache on your browser or wait for a couple of days before viewing. 21:45, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
when contributing an arrangement, please use the rules that apply to arrangements - create an "Arrangements & Transcriptions" section for instance (look at pages where this has already been done), and for instrumentation put the work's original orchestration, not your new one. Thanks Eric 23:31, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
Dear Victorio -- I'm guessing this SATB choral version is an arrangement. Did you do the arrangement? If so I'd like to credit you as the arranger. Thanks, Steltz 08:10, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Hi Victorio. If you're going to mark your own files that were uploaded here previously as being from WIMA, please do it in the manner shown in this diff. Thanks! KGill talk email 22:14, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Dear Jürgen,
Please do not repeat the title of a work in the file description. Simply use the terms "Complete Score" or "Virtual Performance" unless you are uploading a group of individual sections or an except from a larger work, in which case it the title of the movement can be used in that field. Thanks, Carolus 04:04, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Hello Victorio. Please do not create a separate page for these chorale settings, which should go on the pages for the individual cantatas, which are linked to from List of compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, by BWV number. The page you have just created will be deleted shortly. Thank you — P.davydov 12:27, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
The field "Average Duration" does not mean a precise number. So don't put in timings - like 0:42 - in this field as different performers will come up with a longer or shorter timing. Use a general description like "1 minute" or "1-2 minutes" for this field. Also, please note that there is a template for the publisher field {{Knuth}} which gives Altena: Jürgen Knuth. Also change editions and arrangements to "Typeset" instead of "New Composition" as they are not new works. Thanks, Carolus 06:49, 21 January 2012 (UTC) (IMSLP Copyright Admin)
Dear Jürgen, Please take the time to check a composer's listing here before creating useless work pages for pieces that are from a larger work. This creates an annoying mess which takes time to clean up. For example, the work "Malaguena (Rumores de la caleta)" is actually the 6th piece from Albeniz's Recuerdos de Viaje, Op.71, which you could have found out of you had taken the time to look before creating a page.
