Tis the same sonatas, just ordered differently, the Kirkpatrick (K,Kp or Kk) catalogue appears to catalogue all of the sonatas, the Longo (L) catalogue almost all of them, but in a completely different order, both of those are commonly used and often both numbers are given. What about my other questions: are these fair game to upload here, and if they are should we get the lot of them? --Matthew 17:04, 12 January 2007 (EST)
Well Matthew, I have to say that I don't understand much about copyright and wiki projects. But I know two other sites that have many sonatas in the Longo catalogue, they are: sheetmusicarchive.net and midiworld.com/scarlatti. Those are legal, I'm sure. Take a look! You can take information with someone who understands better this subject.
I didn't know the pieces were the same, but of course, what and idiot am I! Then, the one I search for is not n.247 in Longo. I think it belongs only to Kirkpatrik. :( Sofia81 19:41, 13 January 2007 (EST)
Correcting, better this link: sankey.ws/scarlatti/index.html Sofia81 20:09, 13 January 2007 (EST)

┌─────────────────────────────────┘
I know about sheetmusic archive and the sankey site, they both have K1-K175, a fairly impressive selection, but less than a third of the total number of sonatas, those ones are acually avalible on this website already, here they are. That unfortunately doesn't contain the one you're looking for (K247) that will be avalible here relatively soon i hope, but if you can't wait then it's L256 on nlib.org.ua and it's acually in C# minor, not C minor. The numbering of music is almost always confusing unless you know what you're doing.--Matthew 06:10, 14 January 2007 (EST)

I found it! Yes, it's 256L, thanks. I haven't seen that link showing all catalogues. Thanks anyway!
I'm new here, I have to learn first something. But I think we can take Scarlatti from that site, at least the sonatas that are missing here. Scarlatti is already in public domain, so... Sofia81 12:08, 14 January 2007 (EST)
I think you can better use this link for all 450 L-numbers and 45 S-numbers sonatas http://www.piano.ru/scarlatti.html.
--Abelard. I think the typeset is also better.
I wasn't aware of that site, And though it looks quite good, i think i'll persevere with getting them from nlib.org.ua for several reasons, the file i got from there was about twice the size of the equivilent one from nlib, and it took about a minute to download, compared to less than 10s from nlib. I think the music looks better from nlib, the lines are clearer and it looks tidy, and while nlib does impose a download limit, i can partially, and hopefully soon entirely, avoid that and it should not take too long to get the whole collection, i will however get L451-500 and The L.S ones from there which will give me all but 4 of the sonatas: K. 204a, 204b, 452 and 453. If anyone has these they would be much appreciated.--Matthew 15:18, 15 January 2007 (EST)
