Extra Information Nocturne No.1 first appeared as “Mélodie” in 1850 and was dedicated to (à son ami) Charles de Neumann. The anonymous score (likely Brandus or Schott) is an engravers proof dated 1848. Wolff then re-used this exact same piece in 1854 (Brandus – and Schott a year later) as the first of 2 Nocturnes, Op.182 dedicated to Mademoiselle Mary Ray (de New York).
