Misc. Notes VIAF lists a Lauriston L. Scaife which is their only match for L.L. Scaife, but this is a late 20th-century person apparently and could not have translated the Abt duets, unless the two are related people of the same name, which wants evidence. Might be a lawyer - and senior partner of a law firm of note- of that name whose daughter married Reginald Robbins (born 1875) (see Harvard College Class of 1897 class notes, records of the class, page 341. He may have been well-known enough at the time in Boston not to require further elaboration of his initials- as in the L.L. Scaife, of course!!)
